I heard the other day that we have received 50 inches of snow since the beginning of December. We are close to the mountains and get snow regularly, but our precipitation is just not generally enough for that. Plus, we have had very cold temperatures. This unusual weather caused an elementary school roof collapse, which has taken the kids our of school for 9 days now. They may go back tomorrow. But, my point is life has not been normal around here.
So, how do we keep our workout routines? Actually, they aren’t even routines yet. Over the holidays we both signed ourselves up for some races and are trying to begin workout routines to start getting us ready for those races. But, luckily Shaun had a great idea that was really starting us in the face the whole time: Move the treadmill to the bedroom.
Our bedroom is on the bigger side and we have nothing but a bed and bed stands in our bedroom. It has become the place the kids go to fight with their pool noodles. Plus, the windows have views of mountains and trees. So, we did it. The treadmill is in the bedroom now. Along with a TV…Let’s be honest, treadmill running isn’t entertaining or fun. It is a necessity to have something to stare at for me.
I have run twice now since we did it and I plan to run most days.
Here is my last workout:
15 minutes running on the treadmill.
3 rounds of:
5 walkout push ups
10 walking lunges
10 jump squats
Cool down:
High knee steps
Walking kick backs
