It has been a flurry of activity around here. Snow days kept the kids home 4 out of the 5 days, which made for a strange and improvised week.
I did find some workout videos to do here at home for these days where it seems to be difficult to get out of the house and a little cold to workout in the garage.
I did this video and the Day 2 video. It was a great option for an early morning workout. A lot of static stretching and a little bit of HIIT. It wasn’t much of a calorie burner for the time that was invested in it and I would prefer a yoga method for the stretching, but I was sore from all of the push ups, so that was a plus.
I made it to the rock climbing gym 3 times. Once with friends and two yoga classes. My rock climbing continues to improve. Consistency is always key with rock climbing to improve strength in all of those small muscles and confidence to go for the difficult moves.
The yoga was really great too. I took two different classes from two different instructors. One was intense and high energy and the other was more calming and focused on improving flexibility. They both served their own purposes and I enjoyed them both equally. I have had a shoulder injury that is about 90% healed and the 2nd class really helped my shoulder.
I am still lacking the running that is supposed to be my focus right now. So, we are going to try moving the treadmill into our bedroom until the weather changes. It is just a trial, but our lives haven’t looked like they normally do and we want to adjust to make our workouts fit into our lives. We’ll see how it goes.
So, overall I don’t think there is anything too exciting to report. I have been working out, but I haven’t been running or getting any weight lifting in. That should change this week as the kids should be able to return to school and life might be a bit more normal.
